1. Color & Design

These projects represent work by students in Queens College – CUNY’s Color & Design 171 and Nassau Community College – SUNY’s 2D Design courses. The goal of these foundational courses are for students at the earliest stages of their art and design education to understand concepts in color theory and design. I’ve drawn upon design structures from two-dimensional repetitive patterns as seen in Islamic art and contemporary tessellations. Students develop their own palettes based on rigorous exploration of hue temperature, intensity, and value.

All works are on 18″ x 24″ paper; medium is pencil or acrylic paint.
